Patience—A Lesson from Our Sai

Our dearest Baba always teaches us the virtue of patience, and I am trying my best to live by His guidance. I truly understand how much effort goes into reading, editing, and narrating so many experiences, but in the end, isn’t it Baba who decides what happens and when? His divine hands guide everything.

May our merciful Sai bless you with all the goodness you deserve! 😊

With that said, I feel deeply moved to share another experience—one that happened a while ago but remains etched in my heart. It always reminds me of how Baba watches over us in the most miraculous ways.

Baba’s Divine Assurance—A Moment of Unshakable Faith

On February 28, 2018, I traveled from Hyderabad to Kolkata to attend a dear friend’s wedding. During the journey, my wife suddenly experienced severe discomfort in her right eye. It felt as though something had entered it, causing significant swelling and continuous watering. Upon reaching my friend’s home in Baidyabati, a small suburb of Kolkata, his father advised rinsing the eye with cold water and applying some eye drops. The drops provided temporary relief, but by the next day, just as the wedding festivities were about to begin, the pain returned.

Worried, we sought medical help. By Baba’s grace, we found an eye specialist within walking distance—an unexpected blessing in such a small town. However, the doctor’s diagnosis left us shaken. She found a green patch on my wife’s cornea, indicating erosion. She warned that without proper care, it could lead to vision loss. My wife anxiously asked, “Will my eye be fine by tomorrow?” The doctor replied honestly, “I don’t know magic.” She prescribed an ointment, advised us to patch the eye, and asked us to return the next day for a check-up.

This news filled us with concern. The wedding was the next day, and I had an important responsibility—to deliver Gaye Holud Totto (traditional gifts) to the bride’s family in Bardhaman, a two-hour drive away. But my wife’s health was my priority. Once again, Baba stepped in. A family member offered to accompany her to the doctor while I fulfilled my duty, relieving me of my dilemma.

The next morning, as I traveled to Bardhaman, my heart was restless, and my mind was filled with prayers to Baba. I silently pleaded, “Baba, please show me a sign—Your name, Your picture, anything—to let me know You are with us.”

At exactly 12:10 PM, my wife called, her voice brimming with excitement. “The doctor says there’s no trace of corneal erosion!” she exclaimed. It was as if the ailment had never existed! Tears welled up in my eyes as I kept thanking Baba for this divine miracle.

Yet, I still longed for Baba’s physical sign—something to reassure me that He had heard my prayers. As my journey neared its end, our car was stopped at a railway crossing. As I sat waiting, my gaze suddenly landed on an e-rickshaw nearby. To my amazement, Baba’s image was beautifully painted on its back!

For a moment, time stood still. My heart whispered, “Baba, I was longing for Your darshan… Did You not wish to appear before me?” And there He was—smiling at me through that picture, as if lovingly saying, “See, you wanted to see Me, and here I am.” 😊

I was speechless. For thirty seconds, I was completely blank, unable to process the moment. Back in 2018, in a small suburb of Kolkata, it was rare to see Sai Baba’s pictures. Unlike places like Andhra, Telangana, or Maharashtra, where His presence is felt in every shop, vehicle, and home, Sai Baba wasn’t as widely known or worshipped in that area. And yet, at that precise moment, Baba showed Himself to me in the most unexpected way.

That day, Baba reaffirmed my faith. He is always with us, watching over us, and responding to every heartfelt call. I am attaching the picture I saw that day so that you, too, can witness this beautiful moment of grace.

May Baba guide us, bless us, and hold our hands through every breath we take. I will continue sharing more of His divine leelas through this forum.

Baba, I love You—please always stay by our side.

Om Sai Ram! 🙏
